Dear Future Husband - Quick Introduction
It's me, your wife-to-be (did you smile at my rhyme?! :-)). I've been thinking about you recently, and wanted to share some thoughts with you. Hope you don't mind.
I don't know if we have yet cross paths. If we did, I hope I was pleasant and polite. It's a fact that I can be a little "crazy" sometimes, but it's the fun kind. At least that's how I see it. There are some people that make me feel comfortable enough to show this side of me, so if you have seen it, I hope it was pleasing...or perhaps piqued your curiosity. If we have yet to meet, there is so much to get to know! Here are a few tips.
One of the first and most important things about me is that I am a Christian; I seek after God and try to do more than lip service. I know you have been praying for someone like that, so the future is really about us figuring out how we build on each other's strengths to serve Him even more. I'm confident that you will put Him first in everything, because truth be told, I won't and can't commit and submit (in the Bible context) if you don't have Divine power and leading.
People in the past have called me picky...and that's fine with me. I try to keep an open mind, but will not compromise on those things which are most important. The fact that I will choose you to spend my time with, to share my most private ideas and thoughts, to see the best and worse of me, and to be my closest friend on earth will have meant that my "pickiness" paid off. You would have been worth the wait.
I've been told I'm beautiful and a wonderfully made creature. Accepting this has posed some challenge for me in the past, but it's a work in progress. There are a few things I still struggle with, and perhaps you will be able to help me with them . No pressure though - resolving them is between God and I. There's no expectation that you will "complete me" or make me whole. I do hope you are patient and open-minded enough to handle that.
There are a few things that are dear to me. You will learn them in due time. Among them though is that I am passionate about conservation and preservation of Earth's resources. It's not about hugging trees, but it's about ensuring that our old selves and the generations after us will be able to enjoy them. Most importantly, it's because I feel that God charged us with protecting (not perversely dominating) His creation and we owe it to Him so to do. For me, it's one way I show love to people and nature. As I said, there are many others, but I'll leave it there for now.
Yes, it's true that I have things I'm passionate about. But rest assured, you will not be cast aside...I hope you can share them with me; if not all, I am one to make compromises. I will make sure I dedicate much of myself - mind and all- into our relationship (within reason of course). You won't have to question my willingness to support you and be your biggest cheer-leader.
I'll admit that I haven't been praying for you as much as I probably should, but this being my year of Crazy, Radical Faith will be a year of change. I don't know when we will meet or perhaps deepen our existing relationship, but I am praying that it will all be orchestrated by God in a way that will be hilarious (or heart-warming) to our friends and family (and kids?...a topic we will definitely have to discuss). I've said many times that God has a sense of humour, so you could well be among the list of "professions" I once said I would never date (much less marry). I highly doubt it will be a Police or Soldier...that would NOT be funny. Anyways, that's all for now. 'Til next time,
Your forever friend and more,
Le-Anne
