Birthday Celebrations 2017 - Canada Style (Part 1)

I love Octobers! Not only is it the best month of the year, but it's also the month of my birth! It's also I take my vacation in October. This year - 2017 - was no different.

On Friday, October 6, I left work a few minutes early to catch a flight to Toronto - Business Class! Thanks to my credit card and a points system, I could afford to upgrade. I arrived close to midnight in cold Toronto, but my friends were there to greet me. My vacation had officially begun.

The first weekend was filled with activities. Saturday was spend seeing a bit of the place. We went to Gage Park and then went to a mall to look around.

Sunday was a day of thanksgiving! First, it was my birthday. I felt so grateful to be able to celebrate another year, but also for everything God has done for my family, my friends and I. And 2nd, we had an early Thanksgiving and birthday dinner. Canada celebrates their Thanksgiving on October 9, but that's the day for a day trip (more anon). We went to church, and it was about being thankful. The people were friendly, and the message timely. Afterwards, we went to the shopping area to walk around for a bit, and then we went home to prepare dinner. I also got a special birthday (cheese)cake!

All in all a good start to my vacation and a great way to celebrate my birthday. As to the rest of my vacation...stay tuned!
